Who/What is GOD?
Friday, April 28th, 2006I was admiring a wild flower that rested on my window sill on wednesday, when I hit upon an important realization to
Who/What is GOD?
The clue is- "GOD is too big to fit into any religion."
And the answer is found in this line- "To see Heaven in a wild flower."
Hahahahaha…. I’m laughing at myself. I’ve spent years trying to figure out the answer, and read so many books to give me a clue of what/who GOD is, when the answer has been right in front of me all along. Sigh… my realization came so effortlessly that I can’t help but feel a tad cheated. hahaha… boohoo…
And when I made that realization, the first thing that occurred for me was- "WTF?!?". yea… WTF man…
Let’s review this poem that I’ve posted some time back:
"To see the world in a grain of sand,
and Heaven in a wild flower.
To hold infinity in the palm of your hands,
and eternity in an hour."
Previously, I cannot fathom what the second line means, but now, it makes a hellavu sense. Whoever wrote this poem is a remarkable person, and I salute him for it. In 4 lines, he/she has summarized the clues to the universal qns of "Who am I?" and "Who/What is GOD?", as well as covered the human trap/condition. Incredible sia~ Sigh… to think the answer was right in front of me all along. I’m really curious to know Who this person is. I do not meant his name, but rather, what happened to him that made him wrote these 4 lines.
Anyway, if you’re a christian, I’ll like to say that I have total respect for christianity, because I believe that,
"The closer one is to his faith, the simpler GOD becomes. The simpler GOD becomes, the greater is his presence."
However, the thing is, most ppl. misinterpreted GOD as a male figure. Like how we coined mother Nature, it does not necessarily means that Nature is female right? And alot of ppl. turn to the religion because GOD loves them. Which is kinda ironic isn’t it? If you examined these ppl’s lives, almost all, if not all, feel incomplete and lack of love in their lives, and needs an authoritative figure to love them so that they can be "complete".
True, GOD is great. I believe so… but my point is- dun digest every word you read literally, lest you become blind to your faith. So does it necessarily mean that GOD is a male just because the bible wrote GOD - the father, son and holy spirit?
I shall stop here. Just as much as I would like to continue to share my insights, religions have been a touchy subject to discuss.
So I will end by quoting this line again,
"To see heaven in a wild flower."
Amen.
ps: I’ll like to acknowledge the person who wrote the poem. Thank You.
